Our luxurious master bathroom at home oasis is complete and I’m so excited to share it with you all! When we designed our master bathroom we knew we wanted a space that felt like we just walked into a spa. As you enter through a set of double doors, the beautiful freestanding Mallory bathtub c/o and designed by MTI sits in front of a large window that leaks in natural light. To the right of the tub is a walk-in shower closed by a large piece of glass on one side and large tiles that mimic the look of marble carried up on the other wall. The shower includes a built-in seat and hidden shelves. On the opposite wall of the tub and shower is a long mirror that sits on top of a double sink vanity which includes a drop-down sitting area.

THE INSPIRATION
We love to travel and regardless of how much we love the design of the room we stay in or the resort itself, there was no impression like the one of walking into a luxurious spa for the first time. We wanted to bring that same feeling of a spa retreat every time we walked into our bathroom. After countless hours spent on Pinterest and gathering inspiration from model homes we’ve seen, we opted for a bright, luxurious white bathroom. It’s classy, timeless and just gives you that fresh, relaxing spa vibe.

THE FREE-STANDING BATHTUB
The free-standing Mallory tub c/o of MTI is a beautiful matte tub made of 100% solid stone. We made sure to keep it as the focal point in our bathroom design making it one of the first things you see when you walk in. Not only is the material beautiful and solid, it’s nonporous and resistant to mold, mildew, and stains. MTI’s high-quality tubs come in so many different styles and are all handcrafted in the US.
We fell in love with the soft curves of the Mallory tub which also make it so comfortable to sit back and relax. It’s also quite large allowing me to fully stretch my legs. Our tub comes in more color options including glossy finishes and has the option to add an air jet massage system to the floor of the tub. I highly recommend MTI’s Mallory tub for comfort and design (fun fact-it has won quite a few features and awards) but you can check out more of their freestanding and built-in tub designs/materials HERE. They also offer custom work as well as sinks, faucets bathtub accessories and more. Click HERE to visit their website.

OPEN WALK-IN SHOWER
We LOVE our open walk-in shower and it’s probably the most asked about feature in our bathroom. Everyone wants to know if we’re cold in it haha! So, yes and no…. First, let me start by saying we have no regrets with keeping it open, but we made sure to build it so that it’s easy to close if it came down to it.
To help keep it warm, I always run the shower all the way hot for a few minutes as I get ready to jump in. This helps create steam and warm up the tiles so that it’s nice and warm before entering. Also, having 3 fully enclosed walls helps keep the steam in. I would recommend the same including with the glass portion. Lastly, our shower is pretty wide, so we’re not too close to the opening.
For the “yes” part of that question, if the bathroom doors are open it creates a draft so I do feel very cold then even if I’m under the water. Also, when we first moved in our water was comfortable hot but not scorching hot like I like it so I did feel cold at times. Now that that’s fixed I don’t remember feeling cold as long as I’m under/semi-under the water. The top of the shower bench and rest of the bathroom floors are also heated so I feel like the bathroom in general is always warm and comfortable.
Another feature worth mentioning in our walk-in shower is the hidden shelves. We both have a number of shower products that don’t match. I wanted to make sure that was all hidden away to keep it from looking messy.

VANITY
Our vanity stretches across the opposite wall of the shower and bathtub. We used cabinets from this company throughout our whole house, so we didn’t put much thought into it and did the same for our bathroom. We chose a large mirror that went across the width of the cabinets because it made the bathroom look so much bigger as it basically reflects the whole bathroom from any angle.
