WE ARE…. BUILDING A HOUSE!!!!
We are so beyond excited and thankful one of our biggest dreams is becoming a reality!!

I am so thankful for all of you and can’t wait to take you through this next chapter of our lives! I am laughing a little at
so many of your guesses being that we are expecting! Sorry to disappoint, haha!! One day, God willing, but I am excited that so many of you will be as excited as we will be when that day comes haha!! Until then, we’ll work on getting their little rooms ready 🙂

HANGIN’ IN OUR FUTURE CLOSET. WE DECIDED FOR ONE BIG CLOSET INSTEAD OF TWO SEPARATE ONES BECAUSE IF ONE OF US NEEDS MORE/LESS SPACE WE CAN USE IT VS TWO BIG CLOSETS THAT MAY BE EMPTY OR TOO FULL.
If you’ve been following on stories, you may have noticed a few hints of us looking at model homes or asking your opinions on floors, or paint colors, etc over the last year or two. This has been over a year in the making and such long dragged out process and not at all easy, but God opened every door and guided us every step. I can’t even imagine what would have happened if we did it any other way.
Long story short, last January we started looking for houses on the market. I was very anti-building a custom home or getting a home that needed renovations. I had another year of school left and could not fathom doing any of that and still in school. But, there were a few worth looking at on the market and we started looking around to see what our options were. We found ourselves surrounded but so much work to do or so many things we would end up settling on. Don’t get me wrong, I would be happy with anything and more than grateful for a roof over my head because really that’s all that matters, but if you’re looking, there are options and on top on that I was in school and very stressed out. I really wanted to buy a house from one of the start up neighborhoods that you bought, then go to the design center, pick everything out yourself, and then they do all the rest and call you if they need you. It sounded like the perfect scenario and stress free….
We found a house in a start up neighborhood that was in an ok neighborhood- not our dream area, but on that would be somewhat close to everything and after putting everything down on paper with the lady, I had the biggest pit in my stomach. I really wanted to move, but neither of us could call it our “dream home” and knew we would be settling. She pressured us into getting it that second because apparently someone else was wanting that piece of land that same exact time/day, but we begged for her to hold it until the next day and she finally agreed. There was no way we could make such a huge decision on the spot and we were leaving to Veil, Colorado in a few days and just felt so rushed. We had to think about it, pray about, figure out our options, etc. Anyways, neither one of us slept well that night and were were so stressed out we barely talked to each other that day. We realized that if we both feel this awful, God is obviously trying to tell us something and He sure was. We went to the lady and left feeling so relieved and a huge weight was lifted off our shoulder.
So here we are!! For 5 months, we created our floor plan from scratch. We went into SO many new home constructions, start up neighborhoods, and looked at hundreds of floor plans to figure out everything we loved/wanted in our future home. Our vision was an open kitchen into the living room with lots of natural light. We love modern, but still want it to be timeless and cozy. It took forever until we felt like we got it right and it was so worth the wait and going back and forth! Oh, and Lord bless the architect who dealt with all our changes during that time! We absolutely love every part of our new home and can’t wait to make so many more memories in something we both put so much heart into. We are so grateful to God for such a huge blessing and for opening so many doors to make this huge dream of ours a reality.

OUR “FRONT DOOR”

FINALLY STARTED FRAMING LAST WEEK! THEY MOVE SO FAST AND CAN’T BELIEVE THIS DAY IS FINALLY HERE! WE SUBMITTED OUR PLANS TO H.O.A IN SEPTEMBER, FINALLY GOT APPROVED TO BREAKING LAND IN JANUARY AFTER GOING BACK AND FORTH COUNTLESS TIMES AND NOW WE HAVE SOME WALLS!! EEK!!!

IF WE COULD PUT A WINDOW SOMEWHERE, WE DID. LOVE ALL THE NATURAL LIGHT EVERYWHERE.

THE MAN BEHIND EVERYTHING YOU SEE! HE IS SO HARDWORKING AND HAS BEEN WORKING TIRELESSLY TO MAKE OUR DREAMS COME TRUE!!
I can’t wait to share this process with you guys and stay tuned for so many more home posts to come!
