Hey friends! It feels like it’s been forever! I wanted to share one of my favorite
looks that I took with me to New York featuring this ruffle hem skirt. If you follow me on Instagram, you saw that we took a quick trip to New York before heading to another one of our favorite cities. We kept talking about visiting New York again because we both love it so much and when I was invited to the Reward Style events during New York Fashion Week, it seemed like the perfect time. I was able to finally meet some of my favorite blogger friends at the two events and got my hair styled through Tresemme- I’ll tell you all about that later… I have never been to New York for New York Fashion Week and didn’t take advantage of anything going on except for the Tresseme styling because I wanted to hang out with my husband. With both of us working and me in school, I’ll take any time we can spend together! I loved watching IG stories of people that went to other events and runways which looked so amazing, so I’d love to be able to take advantage of those next time.
Anyways, it was a great time, but I literally panicked a million times before getting to the first event and then again a bit for the second. Don’t get me wrong, it was so fun, but I also don’t want you to think I had it together, because I didn’t haha! All of this was way out of my comfort zone and it’s so funny how we can get into our own heads. My husband was like you’re going to meet a bunch of girls, not go walk the plank lol! I don’t know why I get SOO nervous over these things, but I’m so thankful for the opportunity and for the amazing girls I met while I was there. Still on cloud nine and so happy to have shared little parts of it with you all on Instastories.

Ok! Sorry! Totally rambled!! Now for this skirt… hello gorgeous ruffles! I can’t get enough of it and love that it’s not too short. I’m also crushing over mustard for fall, but saw the hot pink one and really tempted to get it too. Pink is surprisingly popular for fall this year (totally excited about it!). I paired this skirt with this black chocker sweater which I love and comes in more colors. It was pretty chilly when I shot these but changed into a white tank for the event later that day after it warmed up.
As far as these shoes, I can’t say anything more than you NEED them! I’m obsessed! They also come in more colors and fit true to size. It’s hard to see on the black, but it was a really pretty scrunched detail in the front and love how it looks with the open sides. I wore them so much while in NYC.

SWEATER (currently 50% off & more colors) || SKIRT (more colors- wearing a 0) || OPEN TOE BOOTIES (more colors, true to size… I have to half size up in some shoes, but didn’t have to in these) || LIPS || CURLING WAND
In other news, my heart breaks for all of those affected Irma. I talked to friends and family and there were some pretty strong winds & rain around home today. It was scary, but can’t even imagine what Florida and the surrounding areas are going through. Praying for all those affected and thinking about the families/individuals involved in the tragedy of 9/11. My heart was heavy thinking about these things today, but it also reminded me to live life to the fullest and ready to meet Jesus, because life is short and so many things are out of our control! I wish you all a great week! Thanks for stopping by & please let me know if there is anything specific you want me to share from our trips! XO!
