I am on a health kick and my go to healthy treat is a smoothie! It makes it so easy to get in all those nutrients your body needs with just a few sips. My favorite smoothies are berry smoothies! They are rich in antioxidants, fiber, and vitamins and make the perfect pick-me-up. I have bought and tried so many different berry smoothies but I can never get them to taste as good as the one I make at home!

Recipe:

fresh strawberries
fresh raspberries
frozen strawberries
frozen blueberries or raspberries
1 small container of Greek yogurt (berry of your choice)

(I put a small bowl (two handfuls) of each fresh berry & two bowls of the frozen strawberries mixed with blueberries. This made two servings.)

Here is my secret:
For this particular smoothie I used strawberry Chobani greek yogurt. Use whichever berry flavor you want the stronger taste of. I do like Oikos brand greek yogurt a little better because of the creamier texture it gives my smoothie. The reason I use greek yogurt is for the texture. It makes it thicker and the protein in the yogurt keeps you full longer. You can use plain greek yogurt if you are trying to stay low on the sugar, but I like mine sweet. Also, as you may have noticed I do not use ice and use frozen berries instead. This makes the smoothie icy without watering it down. If I accidentally add too many frozen berries and it won’t blend, I add more fresh fruits or a little bit of orange juice or almond milk to make it thinner.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! Let me know if you try this recipe & leave your favorite smoothie recipes below to be featured in an upcoming post!
